Micro-SaaS Validation: From Idea to First Customer in 14 Days

Stop building for months before validating. Here is a 14-day sprint to go from idea to first paying customer — without writing a line of production code.

The most expensive mistake in micro-SaaS is building a product nobody buys. A 14-day validation sprint changes the question from "can I build this?" to "will people pay for this?" — before you invest serious time.

Days 1–3: Define the problem sharply

Write a one-paragraph description of the problem, who has it, and how they currently solve it. If you cannot describe the problem clearly without referencing your solution, you do not understand it well enough yet.

Days 4–6: Find and talk to 10 people who have the problem

Do not pitch your idea. Ask about the problem. How do they currently deal with it? What does it cost them — in time, money, or frustration? Have they tried to solve it before? The answers will reshape your idea more than any amount of solo thinking.

Days 7–10: Build the smallest possible demonstration

This does not have to be code. A Notion doc, a Loom walkthrough, or a landing page with a "Join waitlist" button is enough to test whether people are interested enough to take action.

Days 11–14: Ask for money

Waitlist signups are not validation. Payment is validation. Offer early access at a discounted price and see if anyone pays. If 3 out of 10 interested people pay, you have a real signal. If zero pay, you have information that is far cheaper to get now than after three months of building.
